On Friday I sent this newsletter asking for help to get our new Pro-life Educational Boards printed when a woman called me to complain about the Pro-life Educational Boards we wanted to print. She was actually looking at an abortion web site to plan an abortion when she got an e-mail about these and called me. As we began to talk she broke down and poured her heart out about what she was going through. I was able to talk to her and pray with her, I shared how much God loved her and her baby. I was able to connect her to a local counselor, Cheryl Calire of St. Gianna Pregnancy Outreach Center in Buffalo NY who she met with twice. Cheryl spent hours with this mom over the weekend. This mom texted on Saturday and thanked me for speaking with her and said she knows that God orchestrated this whole thing. Yesterday Cheryl called me to let me know that this mom has definitely chosen life for her baby. I am so amazed how God used these new signs to save a baby and we have not even gotten them printed yet. Please pray for this woman as we speak into her life and help her with her needs. PS: He’s a boy. Please read about these new signs and how you can help us get these printed and into use as soon as possible. After posting this we also found a much cheaper way to print the Pro-life Education Boards, they will now only cost about $100 each to make. We have raised $500 this far and would like to print 20 of these for the summer. We still need to raise another $1,500 for printing. We are excited to introduce everyone to our newest educational tool, Stand True’s Pro-life Education Boards, inspired by our friends at Survivors of The Abortion Holocaust and designed by our friends at Human Life Alliance. These new Pro-life Education Boards which are 3 1/2 feet by 4 1/2 feet, will be used by our Stand True missionaries for outreaches at college and high school campuses, festivals, concerts, sporting events, fairs and anywhere crowds are gathered. We will be taking to the streets to bring the pro-life message to the people this summer and the Pro-life Education Boards, combined with our Pro-life Drop Cards and literature will help the missionaries educate America about the abortion holocaust. The plaintiffs’ attorneys confirmed this week that the terms of thesettlement have been accepted by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. The lawsuit, filed last July on behalf of students Ruth Deddens and Ethel Borel-Donohue and invited speaker Bryan Kemper, director of Youth Outreach for Priests for Life, was prompted by SCC’s brazen violation of the First Amendment at a campus religious freedom rally held on June 8, 2012. At the rally, police officers forced event attendees and participants to put away their handheld signs communicating the protesters’ message, citing the college’s speech code. Incredibly, SCC President Steven Lee Johnson told the Dayton Daily News that the ban on signs was necessary because of “safety and security” concerns. Invoking the tragic Virginia Tech shootings in 2007, Johnson said that banning signs was justified because signs could be used as weapons, telling the Daily News that the restriction “has nothing to do with what was printed on those objects, but what those objects could be used for.” Under the revised Campus Access Policy adopted by SCC in the wake of the lawsuit, “any person or group may use, without prior notification, any publicly accessible outdoor area” (with some exceptions) for the purposes of “speaking, non-verbal expressive conduct, the distribution of literature, displaying signage, and circulating petitions.” “This settlement should send a clear message to colleges in Ohio and across the nation that unconstitutional speech codes aren’t worth defending,” said Greg Lukianoff, president of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), which came to the students’ defense. “It’s outrageous to use the shooting at Virginia Tech to justify a blanket ban on holding signs at protests on a public campus. A ban on signs is an insult to our liberties and has no value in preventing violence on campus.” On June 8, 2012, SCC’s Traditional Values Club (TVC) hosted a “Stand Up for Religious Freedom” rally on the SCC campus, one of more than 160 such rallies held on that day nationwide to oppose federal government mandates regarding abortion and contraception. Despite SCC’s clear obligation to uphold the First Amendment on campus, police ordered participants and attendees to put signs supporting the event on the ground, out of view. The censorship was documented with photo and video evidence. Such censorship had apparently been taking place at SCC for more than 20 years. According to The Clarion (PDF), SCC’s campus newspaper, campus police had enforced a policy against signs at SCC since 1990, justifying this censorship through an extremely broad reading of the college’s Campus Access Policy. FIRE wrote to President Johnson on June 15, 2012, asking SCC to disavow the censorship of TVC’s event by the SCC police and to promise never to enforce such a ban against signs in the future. We are looking for 2-3 interns to come to Ohio and work at Stand True Pro-life Outreach the Youth Outreach of Priests for Life.  Who: We want motivated young pro-life people between the ages of 18-28 (again we can be flexible in some circumstances. When: The internship can start any time now and would last though the August 2013 (Longer and shorter terms are available). While we want people for the whole time period we are flexible on the dates. We will be attending the National Right to Life Conference in Dallas, Lifest in Wisconsin and Soulfest in New Hampshire. There would be an opportunity to go to Rome (must raise own expenses) in June for a special pro-life day at the Vatican. Where: We are located in Troy, OH which is near Dayton. We have a missionary apartment that is connected to the office for girls and a private room in the office with a bathroom for guys. What: The internship will include a wide variety of pro-life training, work, prayer and activism as well as traveling to pro-life events. A few of the duties: Social Media: Interns will spend time every day building, maintaining and developing the social media outreach for Stand True and Priests for Life. This includes facebook, twitter, pintrest, tumbler, instagram and many more. Interns will be helping in building our social media library on the Stand True web site. Summer Festival and Events: Interns will traveling with Stand True to several summer events to work the booth, give talks and educate people on pro-life issues. Activism: Interns will go to the abortion clinic for prayer and sidewalk counseling at least once a week. Interns will take part in some local and national pro-life events and activism such as the National Right to Life Conference in Dallas, TX Office work: Interns will help run the daily needs of the Stand True office like mail, order fulfillment, cleaning, banking, filling, proof reading and other needs around the office. Pro-life Training: Interns will be studying pro-life issues and apologetics. Interns will write articles, give talks and learn how to argue the pro-life position. We are also looking for interns with special talents: Web design, wordpress knowledge, graphic arts, writing skills and more. Attack on pro-life office condemned as ‘grotesque and vile’ 22 FEBRUARY 2013 Pro-life commentators have condemned an attack by abortion supporters on the offices of pro-life group, Youth Defence, as ‘grotesque and vile’. The attack, which is currently under investigation by the Gardai, occurred late on Tuesday night, when large amounts of excrement were plastered on the door, locks and shutters of the pro-life office. Clare Molloy of Youth Defence said that the attack was ‘truly disgusting’ and that abortion campaigners had now reached a new low. “This behaviour is beneath contempt, and I am saddened that such naked aggression and hatred is being displayed by abortion campaigners,” she said. Niamh Uí Bhriain of Life Institute said that what was most grotesque was that the abortion advocates had used faeces to attach photos and news clippings of Savita Halappanavar to the door and the shutters. “It was a deplorable thing to do, especially given the tragic nature of her death,” she said. “It’s so enormously disrespectful and insulting to Savita’s memory. How they think this will further their cause is beyond anyone’s understanding.” Shocked passers-by visibly recoiled at the vile display, and video footage has been given to the Gardai, along with information obtained by Youth Defence volunteers who had previously infiltrated meetings held by abortion advocates. The Gardai have said they are taking the matter seriously. Niamh Uí Bhriain said that the Youth Defence office was staffed by young female volunteers, and the obvious intention of the attack – which, as can be seen on video footage, was carried out by several men – was to upset and intimidate the young women working for the pro-life cause. “It’s actually really shocking that anyone would sink this low, and think that they were making any kind of a valid point. Most people would agree that this is pretty depraved and vile, but it reveals the mindset of extreme abortion campaigners who want to attack and silence anyone who disagrees with them.” The pro-life spokeswoman said that the attack would not act as “any kind of deterrent to the thousands of pro-life volunteers across the country who were actively seeking a better answer than abortion for both mother and baby.” Dr Seán Ó Domhnaill, a clinical psychiatrist and advisor to the pro-life movement said that the aggression being displayed in the attack was ‘extraordinary and quite disturbing’ and did not happen in isolation. “It emerges from an atmosphere brought on by commentators on social media and elsewhere who preach intolerance and hatred towards pro-life advocates,” he said. “I know that many threats of physical violence have been made against pro-life activists on social media and elsewhere by extremists in the pro-abortion movement, and I am glad to see the Gardai taking this attack seriously,” he said. “This aggression has no part in the debate about abortion,” he added.
