| Baby Saved!!! |
On Saturday Morning we loaded up the van to go down to Richmond for our bi-monthly abortion mill outreach. As we arrived we noticed that there were no clinic escorts there yet, which is always a good thing. As we gathered to open our morning with prayer I noticed that one of the sidewalk counselors was talking to a couple of girls who had parked in the abortion mill parking lot, but came out to talk. The counselors prayed with the women and talked to them about the life of their baby. After about 15 minutes the girl who was scheduled for an abortion changed her mind and decided to keep her baby. Praise God!!! We know that there are a lot of people who have misconceptions about ministry in front of the abortion mills. People seem to automatically think that because we go there we must be the ones who scream and yell and wave signs in peoples faces. This is far from the truth. We believe that the abortion mill is not a place for protest, but a place for ministry and outreach. It is a place to offer love and hope, not hate and condemnation. We go to the abortion mill to pray, counsel and offer an alternative to women in need. I often hear people talk about how if the women are too scared to come to the clinic, it is a great thing. I disagree with that. If we just scare them off what happens to them a month down the road, or a year down the road.? What happens to them when they find them selves in the same situation again? I would much rather have an opportunity to talk to them and share Christ with them and offer them hope, so they will end up in this situation again. There is a time and place to protest, and I do agree that we must stand against evil. But I do not want to protest people, I want to love them and offer them the hope of Christ. I always here people talk about how they want to do mission work. They want to go into the world and preach the gospel. They talk about going to Africa because so many little children are dying and women are oppressed and so many people are hurting. It is so much easier then you may think. Go to your phone book and look in the yellow pages under abortion and you will find some of the most important and needy mission fields there are. You will find places where little babies are being killed, women are being exploited and hurting people need Christ. For Christ I stand,
