The arms of the Father

One night of fun
One careless mistake
A gift was given
A gift that you were not yet ready to receive
That gift was a child
Your little baby girl
So you took the gift and gave it back
But you know not what you do

I would give anything so you could hear her laugh
So you could hear her run and play
If only once you could hold her hand
And wipe Away all of her tears
Now she with her true daddy
And he's watching her run and play
You did not want her
You'll get to see her one day
But until then
She with her daddy
And he's holding her hand and
Watching her run and play

You couldn't face your responsibility
So you took the quick way out
You could not see the beauty
Of the blessing you had been given
And now that blessing is no longer yours
Because you gave her away
