My Heart Is Broken As Our Stand True Missionary Apartment Has Been Trashed

Recently Stand True was given the opportunity to help a single mother and her two small children while they worked through a very difficult situation. Though we are low on funds, we do have an apartment that is usually reserved for our Missionaries. We thought this would be a perfect fit for this small family in need. While the mother continued to look for work, our bills began to accumulate. What started as a three month stay was nearly doubled, and the utility bills alone are more than $500. Eventually the electricity service was terminated.

This small family recently moved out, and while we are thankful for the opportunity to help them, we are saddened to find that the apartment is no longer livable. This has to be improved immediately so that we can prepare the apartment for our incoming Missionaries. The apartment will require far more than a deep cleaning: we will need to replace appliances, change locks, and much more.

We are so thankful for the opportunity to serve our brothers and sisters in Christ, but we simply won’t be able to continue to do so without your help. We are blessed that a friend who does house cleaning professionally will be taking on the task for a minimal fee ($250). On top of that there will some replacement items and over $500 in back utilities to be paid. We will need a couple new mattresses and linens also. I am hoping to get this all done for under $1,500 but know it could go higher.

With all the damage we sustained already this winter, this just puts us way behind with funds. Will you please help us get the Stand True Missionary Apartment ready for the summer missionaries?

Can you donate $25, $50, $100, $500 or any amount to help Stand True recover from this devastating winter and the trashed apartment so we can continue to educate, activate and equip this generation? – If you can donate please do so at

Donations can also be mailed to Stand True – PO Box 890 – Troy, OH 45373 or call 540-538-2581 to donate by phone.

Sorry to hear of this. I wish I had money to help out. I would have offered my cleaning services free of charge, but I am too far away to physically help. All I can offer up is my prayers, so I will be praying for you all and hope everything works out. As far as the utility bills go, was the family living there on any public assistance? I believe that the county may be able to help out with some of the money due for utilities while the family was living there, if they were on assistance. Maybe you could look into that some how? Again, you are all in my prayers!
