This is the generation that will abolish abortion!

Today I Bury My Son, Benjamin Davis Kemper.

Many of you may already know that my wife and I lost our son last week to miscarriage at 12 weeks. On Thursday, February 23rd my wife miscarried in our home and had to be rushed to the hospital due to heavy bleeding. At the hospital, the ER doctor called in an OB specialist who was able to stop the hemorrhaging and stabilize my wife.

These were probably the most gut wrenching few hours of my life; the loss of our child and watching my wife in danger of bleeding to death. I prayed to God for my bride, begging Him to not take her home yet. I stood over her and knew even more than ever how much I love her and how lost I would be with out her. I know that Christ is my only hope for eternity, but Carrie is what makes every day worth living on this earth.

Carrie was kept overnight in the hospital for observation and is home resting now. We have been blessed by our community and church who have taken care of us, providing meals for our family. Our Pastor was at the hospital within an hour of us getting there to pray for us and see what we may need.

After coming home from the hospital we sat down with our other children and talked about what happened and they helped us name Benjamin Davis. For us, Benjamin is just as much a part of our family as any of our other children.

Today March 1st, we are having a funeral and wake for Benjamin. We want to witness to the community about the sanctity of human life and personhood of every human person no matter what stage of life development they are in. Benjamin was about 12 weeks in the womb but still just as important to us and God as any of our other children.

I have received hundreds of text messages, e-mails, phone calls and facebook comments from friends, family, pro-life leaders, and our Stand True family expressing condolences and offering prayers. I am so blessed to have such an amazing network of support and people who care about us. Thank you to all who reached out to us.

While many of the costs of the funeral and hospital have been waived or covered, we will still have a few thousand dollars in doctor bills and other costs due to this tragedy. There is a memorial fund set up through my church for those who would like to help our family in this time of need.
